About that "strange little college"

For those who are interested, Alan Jacobs has a new article up in the April 2006 volume of First Things. It's called "To Be a Christian College." Thanks to Amy Welbourn for pointing it out.

Persons of note discussed in the article: Jonathan Blanchard, Duane Litfin, Joshua Hochschild.

It begins with a description that rather amused me. "In 1877 some concerned citizens of Wheaton, Illinois, decided that they needed to do something about the strange little college that stood in the midst of their town."
