Odd and ends

Since I last posted, aside from spending a lot of time in the car, I read Old Man's War, a remarkably enjoyable piece of science fiction. I really want to get my hands on a copy of John Scalzi's next book, Ghost Brigades.

Additionally, I have seen the movie High School Musical. A lot of my cousins are obsessed with it, and I watched it at their house. I was pleasantly surprised: it was funny and cute, as well as much better than I would have expected from an inexpensive, made-for-TV movie produced for the Disney Channel. Favorite scene: the one with the different cliques singing and dancing in the cafeteria. Random observation: the male lead, Zac Efron, has an absolutely uncanny resemblance to one of my brothers. (Or, at least I think he does in the movie — less so in his IMDb photos.) My brother may disagree if he wishes.) Random trivia that I think is interesting: Zac Efron also played young Simon in an episode of Firefly.
