Congratulations are in order

One of my favorite new authors, John Scalzi (that's a link to his blog), just won the John W. Campbell Award for Best New Writer. Here are a few thoughts of his on the award and on the nomination of Old Man's War for the Hugo for best novel.

Old Man's War, a work of truly excellent science fiction, has an equally good sequel, The Ghost Brigades, and I am very excited that Scalzi has another novel, The Android's Dream, due out in October. An earlier book of his, Agent to the Stars, can be read online (click here). However, I was lucky enough to find a copy at my local library.
