Adventures in Harry Potter Cupcake Art, Round 2

Those of you who have read this blog for a very long time may remember the first round of Harry Potter cupcake art (link 1, link 2), which was inspired by the publication of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince way back in July 2005. For those of you who don't remember that or who have only discovered Do Thy Research more recently, I'll show a few pictures from that before getting to the new cupcakes, which were made and eaten late last week on the occasion of two Harry Potter movie nights. Suffice it to say, fun was had by all present. A number of my friends suggested we do this again right before the fifth movie comes out, and provided I'm in the country when that happens, I'd definitely be up for it.

Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you (once again) the end results of Adventures in Harry Potter Cupcake Art, Round 1.

In those days, J.K. Rowling had not yet issued a decree that the seventh book was to be called Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows... and so I decorated the book 7 cupcake with a question mark!

The quidditch cupcake is my favorite from Round 1.

Now, let's proceed to Round 2... this first picture shows all two dozen cupcakes.

Behold, the ones relating to book titles...

Other assorted cupcakes... a few spells, the four mauraders, and a few other random cupcakes, including a very important snake.

That snake is, obviously, Nagini, and this cupcake is by far my favorite from Round 2. Unfortunately, no picture really does her justice — the Nagini cupcake was a thing of beauty, as the friends of mine who were present last Friday can attest.
