Inheritance Cycle Happiness

A few weeks ago, Christopher Paolini let it be known that the third book in the series — which is now to be a quartet rather than a trilogy, to which I respond "the more the merrier" — shall be called Brisingr. Interested parties will also want to know that the next adventures of Eragon shall be ours, oh yes my precious, ours to read on September 20 and that Amazon.com currently claims that the book is 704 pages long. It's got cool cover art, too. Yay. It's been a long wait for this book, so it's great to finally know when it will arrive! The previous volume in the Inheritance cycle came out barely a month after the sixth Harry Potter, way back in August 2005.

In other exciting book news, I was pleased to learn of the existence of a sixth Artemis Fowl book, The Time Paradox. It'll be out in July. Other books whose publication I eagerly await over the next year:
*The Final Warning: A Maximum Ride Novel by James Patterson - March 17
*Small Favor by Jim Butcher (Dresden Files #10) - April 1
*Once Upon a Time in the North by Philip Pullman (His Dark Materials novella #2) - April 22
*The Magician by Michael Scott (Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel #2) - June 24
*Superior Saturday by Garth Nix (Keys to the Kingdom #6) - July 1
*Orson Scott Card's InterGalactic Medicine Show by Orson Scott Card and Edmund R. Schubert - August 5
*Zoe's Tale by John Scalzi - August 19
*Backup, a Dresdenverse novella with Thomas Raith as the protagonist, by Jim Butcher - October 31
*The currently untitled fifth Codex Alera, also by Jim Butcher - Decemberish (this is my new favorite fantasy series)
